SO I’m riding my bike on the back trails of Las Vegas today. It was pretty nice, around 90 degrees and sunny. Figured I’d get a tan. As I was riding, I passed a community recreation center. I passed by the outdoor pool, and tennis courts, and saw people in both. I love to play tennis, even though my shoulder tells me I shouldn’t. But it reminded me of something. If I wanted to play tennis here, I really wouldn’t have anyone to play with. Most of my friends, with weather like this, would rather go to a pool, or, they just aren’t very good at tennis. But it doesn’t just go for tennis. I play basketball every Tuesday, and to be honest, that’s one of my favorite times of each week. But besides that, I don’t really have any friends I can call and say hey, lets go play basketball. I’m just a fitness guy. I can’t help it. Most anything active, besides water sports for obvious reasons, I like to do. I just don’t know many people who like to do them. I know there are sites like Active and Meetup, and those are all well and good. But it raises a question anyway. Do you have people around you, who are into fitness? It helps, if you do. It limits the deterrents from getting your workouts in, if other people want to do active things with you. I mean, who doesn’t love Wet Republic, and Rehab, and laying by the pool and just hanging out? I’ve had a lot of those days myself, but to be honest, that’s not who I am. I think I just do that, because, that’s what everyone around me does. I’d MUCH rather go hiking, or to Utah for the day, and take up Red Mountain . I just don’t have a ton of friends who are into that? So, the point of this all is, if that’s what you are into, find friends who are into fitness too. If you don’t have that network around you, you’ll always have a hard time really enjoying your life, when what you really want to do, you aren’t doing. If you really love hanging out at pools, great. Good for you. It’s nice from time to time.

Do You Have Fitness Friends? Las Vegas Personal Trainer
Sunday, June 12th, 2011The Fitness Life, it’s a Good One.
Thursday, August 19th, 2010Hey, I am in Las Vegas today, but not for long. The next two weeks are going to be filled with fun and adventure for me! Sunday i am heading to California, where a Six Flags trip is in order, and then on Tuesday, I will be heading down to Florida to develop a pre-season training program for my friend, Coach David Lane, and his Chipola College women’s basketball team. I will say this. The weather down in that part of Florida, is nothing to brag about. Sorry Dave. I went there last year, and felt the need to shower as soon as I stepped outside. I do have fun showing athletes how to work out though. He has a very talented team, and I feel honored to have a part in their success.
After the Florida trip, I will be going BACK to California, but this time to do something that i have been waiting a year to do. I will be going to Santa Monica, to become officially TRX certified. Ever since I put my hands on a TRX, it’s what I’ve wanted to do. I read about them, watch videos, own my own dvd library on TRX workouts, watch seminars, you name it. Only thing I don’t want to happen is to have this workshop teach me nothing. But with literally 8 hours of just TRX, I am sure I will learn plenty new.
Well, that would be the extent of my trips in August, as it has been a VERY busy month for me. We have another huge project in the works, that will be coming out, hopefully before the end of the year. I don’t want to say P90X look out, but hey, look out:) Alright guys. That’s it for today. Hope your training is going well, and I hope to see you guys in Fitness Camp sometime soon!
What Sport Has The Fittest Athletes?
Sunday, July 18th, 2010Don’t know why i just thought of this question. NBA summer league is up on tv, and there are some guys with some muscle on those courts! Playing basketball, I can appreciate the athleticism some of these guys have. And some of them are just chiseled. I also saw the other night on VH1 I think it was, the T.O. Show. Or something like that. Terrell Owens is trying to find a wife or something. Pointless really, but they do have a little clip of him working out. That dude is jacked. And he plays basketball in his free time as well. The reason I am writing this, is because I am wondering, which sport has the athletes who possess the most fitness? Is it football, with their fast receivers, powerful lineman, and agile running backs? Is it basketball, with their ultra quick point guards, their lean, long athletic forwards, and centers with their footwork? Maybe it’s baseball, with their… umm….their…. pitchers, and tobacco, and stuff. Wait, NO! definitely not baseball. There are some healthy, fit guys, but for the most part, come on. Hockey? possibly. I don’t know a ton about hockey, but i know these guys are skating non stop for a couple hours. So I ask you guys? What sport do you think has the overall fittest athletes? I know a lot of people are going to say rugby, or soccer. Give me your argument, and why.
