Fitness Fighters. It’s a RUMBLE!

tclogo with dot com1 300x213 Fitness Fighters. Its a RUMBLE!I hate cardio.  Always have.  Always will probably.  I do it sometimes because I feel like my fitness isn’t complete without having a big lung capacity too.  Anyway.  When it comes to burning fat, I think you can accomplish that in a minimal amount of time, as long as you work hard.  A girl on facebook did NOT agree with me.  I would like to tell you about an “argument” I had with a certain person on facebook who will remain nameless.  She was a figure competitor, and basically said that the ONLY way you can burn fat is to do between 30-60 minutes of cardio.  I think this, in itself, is silly.  That’s like saying the only way to get from Chicago to Los Angeles is by train.  There are literally hundreds of ways to burn body fat.  I won’t go into them, and will stick with my ammo for the argument of 20 minutes of cardio.  I asked if I only did 20 minutes of cardio, would I burn any fat. She said no.  She didn’t ask how hard I was working, or if I was doing intervals or what exactly my cardio was, she just basically told me if that’s all I’m doing, I might as well go back to bed.  How does that make sense?  She also said it has to be continuous for at least 30 minutes.  None of it made sense.  Take a track and field sprinter who is all muscle.  They NEVER really do 30 minutes of continuous cardio, yet, remain at about 6-10% bodyfat.  Anyway.  I won’t go into all the details, but my point is this.  You can burn fat, in a minimal amount of time.  As long as the intensity is high, you can usually burn MORE fat than if you did moderate intensity cardio for 30 minutes.  Think about it this way.  If you jog 3 miles in 40 minutes, and I do that same 3 miles in 20 minutes, who got a better workout?  (Let’s say we are on par physically.)  I did.  And I will burn more fat, because my intensity was higher, and I was running faster.  So next time your trainer, or bodybuilding friend, or local fitness competitor says you NEED to do at least 30 minutes of cardio, remember this article.

Tips To Help You Lose Fat

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

Happy Sunday people of the summer?  Have you been keeping up with working out?  Has your fitness level increased over the summer?  Have you taken the necessary steps to keep your bodyfat low, while enjoying time in the sun?  If you still are a little unsure about going outside in a tank top, or a bikini for that matter, what is it that is holding you back?  What have your workouts been like?  They’ve been ok?  Great.  What has your nutrition been like?  Not so great?  BINGO!  Most people, just miss the boat on this one.  If you aren’t getting proper nutrition, you won’t get the full benefits of your workout.  You also won’t reach your goals in any sort of timely manner.  So I am going to give you some tips to lose fat quickly.

1.  Eat more fruits and vegetables.  If you eat 6-7 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, I can almost guarantee you will see weight or fat loss.  Most people I would assume get an average of 3 servings, and I am being generous.  If you add more, you will be less likely to eat a bunch of crap junk to fill yourself with empty calories and fat.

2.  Write down what you eat.  Writing down everything you put in your mouth will make you realize just what your diet looks like.  It will tell you whether you are getting enough water, enough proteins, or if you even eat ANY veggies.

3.  Eliminate processed foods.  Really, when you eliminate processed, packaged, foods, there is really no way around eating healthy.  Simple rule, if it comes in a box, don’t eat it.  Try this out for a week and see what happens to your body.

There are my tips.  Try to incorporate one a week, and in 3 weeks, i bet you’ll be liking the new you.

Fitness Goal- 3% Decrease in Bodyfat.

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

My fitness goal fort the month of June was to lose three percent bodyfat and go from 6.64% to 3.64%. I had twenty-seven days to do this, since I started on June Third. My diet was a little intense, but I did slip up a few times. Some people I know like to keep junk food in my fridge. I would say my nutrition, I complied with about 90% of the time. The workouts consisted of a lit of interval training, as well as a lot of circuit training with bodyweight and dumbells as resistance. The end result- in 27 days, I lost 12 pounds and 2.2% of my bodyfat. Although I didn’t quite reach my goal, I gel had I tightened up the nutrition aspect of it just a tiny bit, I would be sitting at 3% right now. Just goes to show you, no matter what shape you are in, there is always room for improvement.

Las Vegas Fitness Expert- My Report

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Well, here we go guys.  I am 21 days into my own June Fitness Challenge.  For those of you who don’t know, I decided to make a fitness goal of losing 3% bodyfat for the month of June.  I have 9 days left, and I just wanted to update you on my status.  Right now, I have been for the most part, eating very clean.  Most of my meals consist of either a protein shake with skim milk, 6 egg whites, one yolk, and a cup of spinach mixed with a teaspoon of olive oil and some salsa, or a chicken breast, broccoli, and a cup of rice.  The first week, went GREAT.  within one week, I lost a percentage and a half of bodyfat.  This is going to be easy right.  Nope.  Since that first week, I have only lost a half percent more.  I will admit, my nutrition plan has taken a detour due to gifts from a couple clients.  I still have yet to find out if they are trying to sabotage me on purpose:)  Anyway, I have 9 days left, to lose a whole percentage bodyfat.  This is going to be tough, and a real tight race.  Who do you have? The bodyfat, or me?  Choose wisely.
