Are You On A Diet? HCG, and Other Stuff

Sunday, November 6th, 2011

hcg na 3 site 300x251 Are You On A Diet? HCG, and Other StuffHCG.  Anyone who has anything to do with weight loss has heard of it.  Personal trainers, nutritionists, people just trying to shed unwanted pounds.  It is definitely a hot topic.  But along with HCG, there are a multitude of other “nutrition plans” on the market.  I’m sure in your area of the world there are plans like this, just like there are in Las Vegas.  Usually these plans aren’t much of a “plan” at all.  They all involve restricting calories, which, to a point is ok.  Then they all tell you to ingest their own product or “food”.  Now, right off, to me, sounds fishy.  Let’s take HCG for example.  The common practice is to either inject yourself or take drops under your tongue, with the HCG.  But under this program, you also limit your daily caloric intake to about 500 calories.  I take in an average of 3500 calories a day.  Without HCG do you think I might lose some weight eating only 500 a day?  But NO.. They say it’s the HCG that is important here, not the fact you are basically going on a starvation diet.  But you need to pay for the HCG, so that’s how they get you.  Any of these other “diets” do basically another form of the same thing.  They come out with their own nutrition product, so they can charge you some fee, to tell you not to eat very much.  Smart move by these companies.

You ever hear people say, “Oh, no thank you.  I’m on a diet.”?  Well, that to me is a funny statement.  Usually the people on a diet, eventually have to go on a diet again at some point.  It shouldn’t be a temporary thing.  Most people I know who have done HCG, have done it more than one time.  Which also means they paid more than once.  And that, my friend, is how these companies make money.  They know the fix isn’t permanent, and if you rely on their method, you’ll be back for more eventually.  It puts you in a nasty habit of that diet roller coaster.  If people would learn how to eat, and actually go on a REAL plan, one in which no one makes money off of food you eat except the farmers.  Let’s face it.  If it’s not a lifestyle habit, and you have to do it more than once, it probably doesn’t really work.

It’s a better idea to learn to take in the right amount of foods over time and then learn how to maintain a consistent nutrition program with your bad meals from time to time.  I also know in this day and age, we are all about quick results, weddings three weeks away, bikini season, etc.  But like they say, patience is a virtue.  When you develop that trait, the rewards are much more satisfying.  Look elsewhere for your diet fix.  Not HCG, or anything you have to pay for, unless it’s a farmers market.

Quick Way To Lose Fat?- Las Vegas Personal Trainer

Sunday, October 9th, 2011

I have come up with a quick way to lose fat.  It’s called liposuction.  I will make millions off of this invention.  I’m going to quit my job in Las Vegas as a personal trainer, and open a “liposuction studio”.  Wait.  What’s that you say?  this liposuction thing has already been invented?  Are you sure?  Ok.  Well, scratch that then.  I’ll just take good old fashioned science as my business.  The goal for my company would be to lose fat in a timely manner, and learn how to keep it off.  Oh, this liposuction thing takes it off immediately?  Oh.  Hmm…  Does it fix how you eat?  NO?  How much does it cost?  HOW MUCH?  Wow.  So, it must be permanent then?  NO?  OK.  So you are telling me, that this “liposuction“, a quick way to lose fat, costs thousands of dollars, isn’t permanent, and doesn’t teach you good nutrition habits?  So, more than likely, you’ll be getting it again? Sounds like that HCG thing everyone is talking about.

How about, we practice just a little patience, and LEARN how to eat, and train, the proper ways to lose fat quickly?  If we change our habits, rather than spend tons of cash on looking good tomorrow for a fleeting minute, we can look good everyday for the rest of our lives.  Find some good nutrition information.  talk to your personal trainer, or a nutrition specialist, for guidance.  As far as your fitness, talk to your certified trainer, or exercise specialist on direction for your workouts.  The money you spend here, will be far less than the money you spend at my liposuction store, and you’ll learn a lot more, and realize, you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars if you build the house yourself.  Learn a strong foundation, and you’ll realize weight loss is simple.  just keep hacking at it, and results will come.  But it’s a methodical game.  No instant gratification.  No shortcuts.  You cheat your way through things, and you’ll never learn how to get out of a bind, this one being gaining body fat.  Question the subject matter when you hear of a quick way to lose fat.

Where Are My Abs? Las Vegas Personal Training

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

I have abs.  You have abs.  That 400 pound dude eating the cheetos, trough of ice cream, and keg of lemonade has abs too.  If you compare us all, side to side, you’ll see mine, you may see yours, and the 400 pound man, well, you’ll have to feel around, get a magnifying glass, and give him an ultrasound to see if there are any there.  But he does have them.  What’s the difference?  Body fat.  It isn’t who has more muscle when it comes to having a six pack.  That plays a part, we all know that, but I will also say there are tons of crack heads who have a six pack too, and it has nothing to do with their nutrition program.  the less bodyfat you have, the more your abs will show.  I don’t recommend becoming addicted to any drugs, but I do recommend losing bodyfat.  And the best way to do that, IS to monitor your nutrition program.  If you are eating based on whatever is cheapest, then you probably won’t see your abs any time soon.  I know money plays a role in all our lives, but you need good quality FOOD to really make a difference.  Just because this oatmeal is 20 cents, doesn’t make it a better fit than the oatmeal that is $2.00, if the quality of the oatmeal diminishes just as much as the price does.  Like I always say with most things, you pay for what you get.  Just because macaroni and cheese is a dollar a box, does not make it a good substitute for lean ground beef, a sweet potato, and some steamed greens.  If you think that way, you’ll never see your abs.  It takes dedication, planning, and some willpower to get those abs to show.  Learn a little bit about the food you eat, and the effects that that food will have on you, and you’ll realize why, macaroni and cheese does not equal a six pack.

Do You Work Out Every Day?

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

I didn’t work out today.  I also didn’t work out on Sunday I think.  So out of 5 days this week, 3 have been fitness days.  I don’t know why I wonder this, but I see people in the gym all the time, for two hours at a time, and they are there every day.  I don’t work out every day, but I know a lot of people who do.  I am in better shape than most of these people who work out every day, so, what gives?  Something isn’t right here.  I thought the more you work out, the better shape you are in.  I’m here to tell you, working out every day, in my opinion, isn’t what the cool kids do.  I work out, TOPS, 4 days a week.  Over the years, I’ve learned that resting and recovery is JUST as important as the actual workouts you do.  How are you going to become more fit, if you don’t let your muscles recuperate?  Another thing.  Those people who work out more than me, I would be curious to see just exactly what they eat on any given day.  Most people, aren’t even honest with THEMSELVES about their nutrition, so I don’t expect them to be honest to me when I ask.  Maybe it’s not even honesty, maybe it’s just that they forget they had Cold Stone 4 days in a row.  I don’t know.  Anyway,  just ranting today,  hopefully I’ll have some informational substance for you all on Friday.

My Fitness Diet- Las Vegas Personal Trainer

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

Today, it’s cooling down in Las Vegas.  It’s days like this that I enjoy the weather, and being outside.  But enough about the weather.  That’s not what we are here to talk about.  Do you see the title of this post?  If you saw that, and are reading this, you want to know what I eat.  Well, let’s get to it.  I am going to tell you what I ate, Friday, the 17th of September, because it’s 11 am Saturday, and my fitness nutrition has barely started for the day.  Mind you, I have a photoshoot in one month, so right now I am eating to gain about two pounds in the next three weeks.  Then my diet will change a bit the last week before the shoot.  Anyway.  To the menu!

At 7am, before I started training, I had myself a fiber cake from Trader Joes, a Met-Rx protein brownie, 12 organic strawberries, and a zipfizz.  I can’t go without my zipfizz to start the day.  Some people drink Starbucks, I drink zipfizz.

Around 11 am, right before my workout for the day, I had two pieces of sprouted wheat bread, with raw, creamy unsalted almond butter, and organic blackberry preserves.  I also had a scoop of Super Pump 250.  It’s like NO-Xplode, just a different company.

Around 2 pm, I tried one of those Gatorade Protein drinks.  Not a huge fan of the taste, but I needed something quick.

At 5 pm, I had my Recovery 2:1:1 from Optimum Nutrition.  Everyone I know except myself HATES the taste of this, but I love it for some reason.

7 pm was time for me to fill it up again, so I had a sprouted wheat bagel, with a vegan chik’n pattie and organic hummus.  I had 30 purple grapes, and 20 juju fish.  I can’t get away from sweets througout the day.

I was an idiot, and didn’t eat til I got home from work at about midnight, but I went to town!  I had a spinach salad, with walnuts, and chicken breast, covered in raspberry vinagrette.  I didn’t stop there though.  Had my favorite restaurant in town, Bachi Burger, where I got this sandwich called the Lonely Bird.  it’s a mix of chicken breast and turkey breast, with tomato and greens.

Throughout the day, I had about 3 liters of water, which is kind of low for me.  But all in all, that’s about 3600 calories,  225 grams of protein, 80 grams of fat, and 485 grams of carbs.  To say my diet is low carb, would be maybe the funniest thing since “Anchorman”.  This works for me.  It may not work for the next person, but i’ve experimented enough, knowing the breakdowns my body needs to look it’s best.  In a few weeks, I’ll give you a day of the “cutting” diet.  Now, I don’t eat this every day, because that would get boring, but this is just a sample of what i go through.  How many calories do YOU get a day?

Tips To Help You Lose Fat

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

Happy Sunday people of the summer?  Have you been keeping up with working out?  Has your fitness level increased over the summer?  Have you taken the necessary steps to keep your bodyfat low, while enjoying time in the sun?  If you still are a little unsure about going outside in a tank top, or a bikini for that matter, what is it that is holding you back?  What have your workouts been like?  They’ve been ok?  Great.  What has your nutrition been like?  Not so great?  BINGO!  Most people, just miss the boat on this one.  If you aren’t getting proper nutrition, you won’t get the full benefits of your workout.  You also won’t reach your goals in any sort of timely manner.  So I am going to give you some tips to lose fat quickly.

1.  Eat more fruits and vegetables.  If you eat 6-7 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, I can almost guarantee you will see weight or fat loss.  Most people I would assume get an average of 3 servings, and I am being generous.  If you add more, you will be less likely to eat a bunch of crap junk to fill yourself with empty calories and fat.

2.  Write down what you eat.  Writing down everything you put in your mouth will make you realize just what your diet looks like.  It will tell you whether you are getting enough water, enough proteins, or if you even eat ANY veggies.

3.  Eliminate processed foods.  Really, when you eliminate processed, packaged, foods, there is really no way around eating healthy.  Simple rule, if it comes in a box, don’t eat it.  Try this out for a week and see what happens to your body.

There are my tips.  Try to incorporate one a week, and in 3 weeks, i bet you’ll be liking the new you.

Our Fitness News On The Horizon

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

Good evening my fitness enthusiasts, those trying to lose weight, those trying to gain muscle, those trying to get ripped, and those that are somewhere in between all that.  Just thought I would write you guys a quick note, telling you where we are at in the business of Tonycress.com Personal Training.  Right now, we are taking on a lot of different, exciting projects, that will benefit not only us, but hopefully a host of other people trying to reach their own exercise goals.

We are still doing our amazing personal training programs and group fitness camps, but in addition to these, we are taking on two big projects.  The first one, has been in my thoughts and actually you guys all came up with the content of it in a way.  I will be writing a book, based on all your fitness questions i have received over the last few years.  I am sure there will be plenty of questions that are left unanswered, but this is a chance to have many of the fitness, diet, and motivation questions people ask me on a day to day basis.  This book will be of great benefit to the people who are looking to lose the last few pounds of stubborn fat, the elite athlete, and the person who is just starting out a fitness program.  I’m excited about this adventure, and I’ll be looking to finish this up in the next two months.

The other big project we are getting involved in is a dvd project.  This is very exciting, as it’s been one of my goals for a few years.  I will blatantly say i am not a fan of the fitness infomercial dvd’s you see out right now for the general public, and we intend on changing the game:)  The dvd’s right now, as far as I’m concerned, don’t focus on their main market.  I can’t say too much about it, but we will be starting the production of this in the coming weeks, and hope to have the DVD program out by October.

This is all very exciting news for us at Tonycress.com  I encourage you guys to check out the youtube videos, where you can learn simple tips and tricks to help your fitness go to new levels.

Las Vegas Fitness Expert- My Report

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Well, here we go guys.  I am 21 days into my own June Fitness Challenge.  For those of you who don’t know, I decided to make a fitness goal of losing 3% bodyfat for the month of June.  I have 9 days left, and I just wanted to update you on my status.  Right now, I have been for the most part, eating very clean.  Most of my meals consist of either a protein shake with skim milk, 6 egg whites, one yolk, and a cup of spinach mixed with a teaspoon of olive oil and some salsa, or a chicken breast, broccoli, and a cup of rice.  The first week, went GREAT.  within one week, I lost a percentage and a half of bodyfat.  This is going to be easy right.  Nope.  Since that first week, I have only lost a half percent more.  I will admit, my nutrition plan has taken a detour due to gifts from a couple clients.  I still have yet to find out if they are trying to sabotage me on purpose:)  Anyway, I have 9 days left, to lose a whole percentage bodyfat.  This is going to be tough, and a real tight race.  Who do you have? The bodyfat, or me?  Choose wisely.

The June Fitness Challenge-What’s Your Workout?

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Hello United States.  Your friendly personal trainer, back with another blog post.  This month, I want to join in the fitness quest.  Now, I stay relatively lean all year round.  This has to do with my workout, nutrition, and way of life mostly.  I understand that everyone has certain roadblocks and different circumstances when it comes to reaching fitness goals, but we all have goals.  So what is your goal.  Let’s take this month, and have a little challenge between ALL of us.  Myself included.  Now, what I am proposing, doesn’t have to be this “Ooh I’m so fat and I am gonna turn myself into this mean muscle machine in 30 days!” type of thing.  What if your goal is to just START working out, or to work out for 3 days a week.  Maybe your goal is to lose 5 pounds this month.  Whatever it is, LET’S DO IT.  There is no better time to plan for it, the time is now.  For myself,  I want to join in this effort, and be together with everyone.  I don’t have a ton of bodyfat to lose, but I am going to make my goal, just as difficult as the next persons.  Right now, I am at 6.64% bodyfat.  This next month, I will try to get down to 3% bodyfat.  I want to be part of this too.  So what I would like you all to do, is tell me what your goal is, and what you plan to do to get there.  I am going to be writing a daily journal of some of the different things i adjust, to reach my goal. What will you do?  Send me an email, stating your goals, maybe a beginning picture, some stats, and your plan.  At the end of the month, I want another email, with new pictures, new results and a better you!  As always, if you have questions about your own workout, let me know.  Now, you can hire a personal trainer, you can do this on your own, or you can do a little of both.  We want results people.  We are trying to change our lives, so again I say, LET’S DO THIS!  My email is tony@tonycress.com We have from now until June 30th. I will choose a few winners, and tell their stories.  We’ll also deliver some prizes to the best transformers.  But not Transformers 2.  That movie was way worse.  Anyway, I’m listening.

Your Fitness. What is it Worth?

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

There are plenty of fitness infomercials on tv right now. I can flip through the channels at any given time and see commercials for the newest craze. A weight you just “shake”. A program promising amazing results in 90 days. Another fitness program claiming you’d have to be “insane” to not do it. Obviously, a lot of these advertisements work, so it tells me one thing. People do care about their health. The fact that people are buying these products says they do want to put in some effort, even if these are the “quick fixes”. Once the product is purchased, who really knows how much use one will get out of it. But that brings up another question in my mind. How much is your fitness worth to you? I don’t know that you could put a monetary value on it, but let’s just look at it a couple different ways. Living in Las Vegas, the nightclub scene is tops. There are places that charge $22 for one drink! And guess what. People buy them. Now, normally, you don’t have just one drink, so let’s say you have three. With a tip, we can say that’s about $75 right? No big deal, you were out drinking. Now let’s turn this into fitness and exercise. One, you just spent some money on things that are taking you away from your fitness goals, and two, that money could have been spent on something taking you towards those very same goals. So now, is it not worth it to pay the extra few dollars to buy organic? Is three drinks really worth one personal training session? I’m going to end this here, but take a look at your goals, and figure out what is worth what to you.
